Goes bright red after being in the sun for 30 seconds and then fades to white. Irish and Welsh ancestry: I wasn't designed to be exposed to the sun. The picture is me in an intemperate moment...

Friend has been feeding the ducks over the past couple of weeks.
One of them, a female, has taken to tapping at the kitchen door - presumably in the hope of getting something to eat.
Today I was doing lots of gardening, the back door was open most of the day, didn't feed the ducks, but irritated them by digging out clay from the half full pond - accompanied by lots of surly quacking and flapping of wings.
Eventually the smell of the stagnant bottom became too much, so I cleaned up, and started making something to eat.
I chopped up an onion, put it in a pan, and started to fry it gently... and then heard a loud quacking... a very LOUD quacking... behind me:
I turn around, and the female duck is the kitchen looking at me - first out of one beady eye, and then the other.
My mistake was moving suddenly towards her (something I thought I'd grown out of some years ago) causing her to panic and fly over the top of my head and land on the cooker, knocking the pan onto the floor and setting light to some of her feathers.
At this point, the little one runs into the room and then runs out again...
Shortly followed by Friend, who also runs into the room and then runs out again...
The duck then takes flight and makes it out the kitchen door leaving a trail of duck effluent, and a smell of singed feathers.
Let's see whether she's still tap, tap, tapping on the door tomorrow, or whether it'll be a case of nevermore...
